Psychosexual Therapy

While couples therapists can work with couples to explore and enhance their sex life, psychosexual therapy is a specialism which requires qualified psychotherapists to undergo extensive additional training that includes biological, social and psychological understanding of sex and sexual health and provides the skills to treat people who experience sexual difficulties.

It is a specialism that can help individuals and couples to address, and very often remedy, physical sexual problems such as erectile dysfunction (delayed or premature ejaculation), genital/pelvic pain (vaginismus, dyspareunia) during intercourse and so on.  In addition, it can help with the impact of life transitions such as menopause or illness.
